We wrapped up Wonderpalooza this week. The presentations continued to spark our curiosity give us a little taste of all the amazing things there are to learn about. This week we heard presentations about the following topics:
The Brain and Emotions
Belugas and Narwhals
Tuna Fishing
Chimpanzees
Galaxies
Italy
The Royal Family
The Nazi Invasion
B.B. King
We also spent a wonderful day with Nikki Hu and her husband, Guy. They worked with the entire 4th grade to put together a dance interpretation of a Chinese Folktale. It’s always wonderful to see a different side of the children when they try something new. Nikki is a pro at bringing out everyone’s artistic side. At the end of the day, the students performed for the 3rd grade. Pictures are posted in our Gallery on our website. Thanks to the PTO for funding this amazing day!
Next Tuesday is the Physics Olympics! Thank you to parents who volunteered to help. I am sending home information today about the jobs that each volunteer will have. Look out for the red paper with details. We will have a picnic lunch outside after the Physics Olympics, so children are encouraged to bring a bagged lunch with a drink on that day. They should also wear sneakers and bring a water bottle.
We will have a beach-themed DEAR (Drop Everything And Read!) Day on Monday, June 22nd. Students are welcome to bring in a beach towel, “beach reads,” and magazines for our day full of reading! Hopefully we will also see some Hawaiian themed shirts!
